The beauty of football

With 15 minutes left in the first half, Leyton Orient leads Manchester City in a fourth round F.A. Cup match. Leyton Orient is in the third tier of English football, and they've definitely found a way to exploit some of City's weaknesses at the moment.

I'm gingerly trying to get through work but I'd like to relax and just give myself over to time off, but that's not how I work.

I am moving slowly on this Saturday, but I do that on Saturdays. This is the one day I try not to do anything on deadline. I work, of course, because my life is all about the processing. What I do is not for everyone, but I am happy when I have something to do.

There are fifteen minutes left in the half and Manchester City has gone level. Leyton Orient is having a great match. I'm slowly getting a podcast out. Suddenly, Kevin de Bruyne comes into the match and takes City above. The crowd is still chanting and hopeful and there's now eight minutes or so left.

Now Everton and Bournemouth have kicked off and I'm slowly going through the day. I've walked two miles around the house while trying to get everything organized. I won't be here in two weeks and will be in Pennsylvania and I savor the moments when I am here and a trip is way in the future. I don't really want to travel there as much as I am, especially at a time when I'm fearful about the decision by the Trump regime to try to remove all oversight. This is not what the American people want, but a lot of people are being kept from noticing because they watch the same propaganda my dad watches.

What will the future bring? I'm not sure. But on this day I'm glad to have football in the background while I write stories that will hopefully bring hope to some. Who knows, though?
